Previous week there was one day holiday (Friday) as it was the national day of Sri Lanka, so we used the opportunity to discover a little bit more. As there will be so much more time to see around in Colombo, I and three friend of mine agreed to go to South, road tripping from West Coast. We hired a car with a driver (with a driver!!). The roads here are full of surprises, kinda dangerous if you are used to drive in Europe I suppose. I couldn't count how many times i hit my head back with sudden brakes, but then I got used to it and even slept despite the fear. On the road we made a lot of stops that's why it took one day to get to our target on south. On the way to Tangalla, we've seen Panadura (seemed very alike to Colombo but maybe more colourful streets), Ambalangoda, Bentota (famous with Bentota beach), Hikkaduwa, Galle Fort (The fort walls), Unawatuna, Midigama, Weligama (famous with fisherman fishing sitting/standing on sticks- we couldn't see any but we saw the empty sticks-and also a lot of colourful catamarans by the beach-there is also a small island called Taprobane, you can rent the big mansion on the island as I heard-must be very expensive though), then we passed through Mirissa (there was a very funny sentence I read on Lonely Planet about this place "Mirissa is designed for sitting and being, not for doing") and then finally just before our destination there was Matara, and between Matara and Tangalla I remember that I saw a very big interesting building which i believe was a temple, our driver said it could be Dondra, well... I don't know). And finally we were at our destination, Palm Paradise Cabanas in Goyambokka. Here we stayed 2 nights three days, the dinners were delicious, I loved the soups. The breakfasts were incredible to me because of seeing all those exotic fruits together at breakfast and I enjoyed it sooo much. We tried to swim in ocean, I say tried because there were a lot of waves. Then we drank a little wine (!) and then slept in our lovely cabana in our orange beds covered with green mosquito nets hearing the ocean. I am a happy lucky person. And now here are some pictures of our trip.
